Tasting Notes
Babylonstoren EVOO Blend (Blue 500ml or 3L tin): Versatile with fresh herb, nutty and peppery notes. Ideal for everyday cooking, dressings, pasta and baking.
Babylonstoren EVOO Frantoio (Green 500ml tin): Creamy layers with hints of green grass, bitter almonds, wildflowers and green apple. Perfect for salads, roasted vegetables, fish and yoghurt.
Babylonstoren EVOO Coratina (Matt Gold 500ml tin): Expressive, reminiscent of radicchio and artichoke. Bitter and pepper notes complement umami flavours like mushrooms and meat.
History & Culture
Dating back to 1692, Babylonstoren is one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms in South Africa. Today it features 5-star accommodation in restored 18th- century cottages, a garden spa, farm-to-fork restaurants, a winery, an olive press, a farm and online shop. Unique to the property is the formal five hectare garden inspired by the Company’s Garden in Cape Town. It’s filled with vegetable patches, edible flowers, espaliered fruit trees, beehives, fragrant lawns, a prickly pear maze, climbing roses, a library of citrus, stone, and pome fruit trees, along with collections of indigenous cycads, clivias and succulents of great botanical significance.
